The Argument from Motion has held significant importance since the time of Aristotle and has been a central subject in philosophy. Throughout history, it has been formulated in various versions and interpretations. Just as motion has been defined in various ways throughout history, Mulla Sadra reinterpreted the argument from motion, presenting it in a renewed form. He articulated the argument both in terms of the efficient cause (‘illat fā‘ilī) and the final cause (‘illat ghā’ī). The Holy Qur'an affirms that every motion requires a mover -an agent that brings a thing from potentiality into actuality. It expands the scope of motion beyond humans to include all beings, even inanimate objects; Just as the narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) emphasize the existence of motion within all beings. The Qur'an establishes that the source of all motion in the universe is entirely free from any form of motion itself. This source is the Necessary Being (Wājib al-Wujūd); Especially in terms of the final cause of motion, the Qur'anic verses that speak of the glorification (tasbīḥ) by all beings point to this truth. Tasbīḥ is understood as a motion of longing (ḥarakat shawqīyah) toward God Almighty, involving the removal of obstacles. Since all beings are innately in love with the Supreme Existence, their glorification is essentially their movement toward their ultimate perfection. Similarly, the narrations (ḥadīths) either explicitly or implicitly affirm this understanding.
The method employed in this study is descriptive and analytical.
